What began as a hobby, local Port Washington Mom, Melanie Cassens has branched out her woodworking business in hopes of our children having the opportunity to learn how to build and create with their own 2 hands. Cassigns offers classes in basic woodworking using hand tools and focuses on kids ages 3-10.
Why woodworking for kids?? Woodworking has been shown to develop fine and gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Kids can grow socially and emotionally through self-confidence, responsibility, appreciation for self and others, and respect for materials and safety. Kids spend more time than ever on electronic devices and there aren't many opportunities in our schools to learn such a valuable skill. This is where Cassigns comes in. We hope kids will love working with wood as much as we do!

We offer an array of kids classes for ages 3-10 including STEM, woodworking, and crafting with wood. Click here for our schedule of classes or put together your own group of kids to customize a class!
Get your friends together for a craft night! We can make seasonal decor for your home, coasters, candle holders and much more! Classes can be held in your house, backyard, or at our facility!
Pick a craft for all of the children to make and we will bring all of the supplies to you and conduct a 1 hour craft with the party!
